Baseball in Philly

"This Phillies team will never play together again."
I saw this story in The Philadelhpia Enquierer today. As some of you know, the Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs yesterday and this article is just explaining where the Phillies went this season, and where they will go in the next few years. The article shows pictures of manager Charlie Manger going around the locker rooms shaking all the players hands, thanking them for a wonderful season. It also mentioned how Jimmy Rollins was right about how this Phillies team was "the team to beat" in the NL East. The Article ends with an uplifting note for Phillies fans saying that general manager Pat Gillick is looking to make the correct changes to get this team over the hump.

This article to me is bitter sweet. Considering I am from South Philadelphia and a die hard Philadelphia sports fan, I am extremely dissapointed that the Phillies were swept in the NLDS, but I am proud of them for winning the East and making the playoffs. For all of you Met fans out there, Jimmy Rollins looked like he was right when he said that the Phillies were the team to beat in the NL East.
